WELCOME TO THE SEASON OF PENTECOST

Welcome to Summer, where the living is easy, and things slow down a little.  The children are off from school.  Maybe at work, the summer season is a time when we slow down a little.   It's usually the time when the family takes a vacation to do fun things, and to make memories that parents and children will remember for a lifetime.

Summer is also a time for growth.  Not only does the grass (and the weeds) grow and need to be constantly cut down, but we "patiently" wait for the fruits and the vegetables we're growing in our garden to mature, so we can enjoy them.

In Church, we call this season, "Pentecost."   It started on the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came to His church, and powerfully gave gifts and abilities to Jesus' disciples so they could proclaim the gospel all over the world.   It will continue until late fall.   We also see this long season of the Church year as a "Season of Growth."

Even though our Sunday school program, and many other educational we are striving to grow in our faith, and in our ability to do the work Jesus gives us to do.   Like the strawberries, and peaches and apples continue to grow because they are attached to their vines and their life-giving trees, so also we grow only when we are connected to Jesus our life-giving Savior.

We pray that you and your family will continue to grow in your knowledge of Jesus, and in your faith and trust in His saving work for you.   We invite you to come and join us any Sunday at 10:30, so we can share our Savior with you.

The Lord's blessings on you as you enjoy this season of growth, and this season of resting and recharging our batteries.

Come to our booth at the Strawberry Festival. Kids can make a free art project and get a treat. This year we will be making fish on a stick with cool stickers. Hours: Friday 11:00 am-7:00 pm Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
